KAI® History
For over 117 years, KAI has been producing blades according to the traditions of old Japan. KAI quickly developed into an international company after starting as a family business in the legendary steelmaking center of Seki, Japan. The desire to preserve and combine ancient traditions with innovative techniques represents no contradiction but forms the basis for new products that honor Japanese blacksmithing while meeting modern demands.
KAI® 7000 Scissors and Shears
The KAI 7000 Series is a next-generation professional scissors and shears. The blades are made of AUS8A stainless steel, are 3.7 mm to 4 mm thick, and are hardened up to 61 HRC. The shears are elegantly matt-finished and equipped with a duplex interlock fastener that prevents the screw from becoming loose. The 7000 Series is available in 15 global models, and Stanger carries all of them. The 7000 Series are authentic utility scissors and shears that cut textiles, leather, film, canvas, aramids, rubber, plastic, paper, and paperboard.
KAI® V5000 Professional
KAI produces the V5000 Series for professional and home use and heat treats the cutting edges to 57 HRC. KAI uses 5Cr15Mov and 1K6 stainless steels, which are more economical but deliver high-performance cuts. They are 1.8 mm to 3.5mm thick. The scissors and shears are satin finished and equipped with a tension-adjustable screw made of brass for easy re-conditioning. Like the 7000 Series, the V5000 Series is 100% Made in Japan.
