The super quick blade change feature of the Gerflor Romus Taurex is patented. Watch the attached video for details. Romus produces the body of this utility knife with Zamak 3, an alloyed combination of zinc and aluminum with a polymer over-molded grip.
Blade changes are made by rotating the rear segment less than one-quarter turn to open the knife. The knife was designed with a magnet to hold the blade, preventing loss during the change. The swap is completed by snapping the knife closed.
Romus supplies the knife with a polymer sheath, three straight blades, and three hook blades. They constructed the sheath with a slot to hold the replacement blade dispenser.
